About Trauma Informed Organizations NC (TIONC)

Trauma Informed Organizations NC is a project of the North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCCADV) and is part of a larger effort to prevent intimate partner violence. Trauma Informed Organizations NC (TIONC) aims to strengthen workplace supports through a trauma informed lens because we believe that supportive and affirming workplaces contribute to creating environments where people have what they need to provide for themselves and their families. We believe that workplaces should be environments where all employees are valued, are able to influence policies that directly affect them, and are committed to mitigating harm and trauma.

TIONC started with a pilot project aimed at supporting domestic violence service providers in enhancing their policies through a trauma informed lens. In this process, we learned that organizations desire to support their employees and strengthen their practices to be more inclusive. This site was created to house resources and education to support organizations in North Carolina on their journey to being more trauma informed.
